But once we see the details of the explanatory foundational theory, it will be easy to achieve that. Of course, this will not dispel skepticism about other particular forms of induction, such as enumerative induction, but, as I shall note briefly in the concluding chapter, not only will the justification of the explanatory foundational theory lessen the impact of that form of skepticism appreciably, it will also, I believe, help provide a new approach to its refutation.

If that claim proves to be dubious, as I shall argue, then we can reject at least one of Unger's premises: either the premise that knowledge requires certainty, or the claim that reasonableness requires knowledge of reasons.
