Method Participants The 238 twin participants were part of an ongoing project, the Minnesota Twin Family Study, a longitudinal investigation of adolescent mental health and development in which twins and their parents participate. The study uses a population-based twin ascertainment method described more fully by Lykken, Bouchard, Mcgue, and Tellegen (1990). Participants, born between (1971 and 1975, were identified from Minnesota birth records, and invited, along with their parents, for a comprehensive assessment that included interview, self-report, and psychophysiological measures.
