But is it? That’s a shark called Megalodon, a relative of the great white shark. Hundreds of this creature’s teeth have been brought up from oceans and rock beds. These are fossilized teeth about four to six inches long! That size tooth would make this fish one of the largest that ever lived—maybe as long as 80 feet! In the 1900s, two Megalodon teeth were brought up from the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. One tooth was only 11,000 years old. That may seem very old to us. But the mole on her leg seemed to bother the animal a lot. Then one day, when the woman was wearing shorts, this gentle dog tried to bite the mole off! That was enough to send the woman to her doctor. She wanted to have the mole removed. After removing it, the doctor sent it to a lab to be tested. The lab test showed that the mole was a deadly form of skin cancer.
